The issue of Sheikh Hasina can become the biggest thorn in the relations between India and Bangladesh. Deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is currently living in exile in India. BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has announced that his party will formally request India to extradite Hasina to Bangladesh to face trial there. Since Tariq Rehman had to stay abroad for 17 years during Hasina’s tenure, this issue can become a cause of diplomatic tension between the two countries.
