Materials:

  • 1 cup dates (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup almonds (chopped)
  • ½ cup cashews (chopped)
  • ¼ cup walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder (optional)

Action:

  • First, dry roast sesame, almonds, cashews and walnuts in a pan on low heat. Keep aside.
  • Heat ghee in the same pan and add chopped dates. Saute the dates, stirring constantly, until soft.
  • When the dates become soft, add the roasted dry fruits and seeds and mix well.
  • Now add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Turn off the heat and transfer the mixture to a greased tray or plate.
  • Flatten by gently pressing from above.
  • Once cooled, cut into bars or cubes of desired size.
  • These dates bars last 7-10 days if kept in an airtight container.
  • You can also add a little cocoa powder or dry fruit powder to add more flavor.
