The special thing is that now it also has the option of more powerful engine, due to which it has become a stronger contender in the micro SUV segment.
Price, performance and features of iCNG AMT
The starting price of the new Tata Punch has been kept at ₹5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). This is India’s first iCNG AMT SUV, which gives the pleasure of automatic driving at low cost. According to the company, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11.1 seconds, which is quite impressive for this segment.
Big change in the interior, now it will feel like a premium SUV
The cabin of 2026 Tata Punch facelift has been made completely modern. It now has a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, a steering wheel with Tata’s new shiny logo and touch-based AC controls. With these changes, the interior of the car looks more hi-tech and premium than before.
Engine Option: Now more power
The old reliable 1.2-litre petrol engine (88 PS) will be available in the new Punch as before. Along with this, Tata has also introduced a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 120 PS of power and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine has been brought keeping in mind those customers who want more power.
Number one in safety: 6 airbags standard
The 2026 Tata Punch has taken a big step in terms of safety. Now 6 airbags are provided as standard in all its variants. Apart from this, features like ESC, ABS, Hill Hold Assist, TPMS, 360-degree camera, rear parking sensor, ISOFIX mounts and seatbelt reminder are included.

Tata Motors also showcased the crash test of the new Punch, in which the SUV’s structure remained intact despite a head-on collision with a truck at a speed of 50 km/h and all four doors opened easily. Due to this strong performance, it has received a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP.
