Tata Sierra.EV Launched In India At Rs 18.79 Lakh

The Tata Sierra.EV has just gone on sale in India, with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 18.79 Lakh. It comes in six trims and with two battery options. Bookings are open and deliveries will start on July 15, 2026.

The electric version of the iconic Sierra nameplate will face competition from mid-size electric SUV models like Maruti eVitara, Mahindra BE6, Hyundai Creta Electric and VinFast VF6.

With the launch, Tata Motors has strengthened its EV portfolio in the country. The Sierra.EV is positioned between the Curvv.EV and Harrier.EV. Now, all models except the Safari have both internal combustion and EV versions. The Safari is expected to get an EV iteration around Diwali this year.

Tata’s Chief Product Officer Anand Kulkarni says that the new Sierra.EV tries to excel in five key areas- comfort, charging speeds, off-road ability, safety and range.

The Sierra.EV has recognisable proportions and a design that reminds us of the internal combustion version. It retains iconic styling elements like the large panoramic rear window glasses, flush-type door handles and clamshell tailgate. The front fascia, however, is new and clean. It gets a new bumper, a closed-off grille section and connected LED DRLs.

The side view reminds you of the internal combustion version. It has the familiar tall stance and 19-inch wheels that look like those of the petrol/diesel version. The rear end gets connected LED tail lamps, a revised bumper and an upright windscreen area. In short, the electric version looks like a Sierra even while having enough cues to stay unique. Seven exterior colours are available on the Sierra.EV.
