In terms of price, the base variant of the Tata Sierra is cheaper than the MG Hector Style by around Rs 50 thousand. The prices of both the cars are currently introductory and may change in the future. However, the Sierra is currently more affordable for customers on a tight budget.

The base variant of the MG Hector has only a petrol engine option and no diesel option. On the contrary, Tata Sierra has the option of diesel engine along with petrol. Both SUVs come with front wheel drive and 6-speed manual gearbox. But the engine options make the Tata Sierra more versatile.

Which SUV looks more premium in exterior?

Even in the base variant, the Tata Sierra offers some design elements that make it look more premium. It gets LED projector headlamps and flush type door handles, which are absent from the MG Hector. Hector features simple headlamps and pool type door handles. Both the SUVs have LED DRLs and both come with 17-inch steel wheels. However, wheel covers are provided in Hector. At the rear, Sierra’s connected LED taillights give it a more attractive look.

Interior and safety features

The base variants of both the SUVs are relatively simple on the inside. Neither model offers a touchscreen infotainment system or speakers. The Tata Sierra gets a 4-inch display, while the MG Hector gets a 3.5-inch unit. The Sierra offers a push button start feature, which is not available in the base variant of the Hector. However, the Hector has a rear seat recline feature, which the base model of the Sierra does not have.

Both the SUVs are almost equal in terms of safety. Both the cars get 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The only difference is in the parking brake. The MG Hector has a manual handbrake, while the Tata Sierra has an electronic parking brake.
