TCS CEO K Krithivasan Earned Rs 28 Crore In FY26 As Company Reduced Workforce
Tata Consultancy Services CEO and Managing Director K Krithivasan earned ₹28.1 crore during the financial year 2025-26, according to the company’s latest annual report.
The compensation marks a 6.3% increase compared to the previous fiscal year and comes at a time when the IT giant reduced its workforce by more than 23,000 employees.
TCS Reduced Over 23,000 Employees In FY26
The annual report revealed that TCS ended FY26 with 584,519 employees, down from 607,979 employees at the end of FY25.
This reflects a reduction of 23,460 employees year-on-year, making the salary hike of the company’s top executive a major talking point across the technology and corporate sectors.
Breakdown Of K Krithivasan’s ₹28.1 Crore Salary
According to the report, Krithivasan’s FY26 compensation package included:
- ₹1.67 crore as base salary
- ₹1.43 crore in benefits, allowances and perquisites
- ₹25 crore as commission
This brought his total annual compensation to ₹28.1 crore.
The report also stated that Krithivasan holds 11,232 equity shares in TCS as of March 31, 2026.
TCS CEO Earned 333 Times Median Employee Salary
TCS disclosed that Krithivasan’s compensation was approximately 332.8 times the median salary of employees at the company.
At the same time, the IT major said junior and mid-level employees received annual salary hikes ranging between 4.5% and 7%, while top performers received double-digit increments in India.
“The average annual increase for junior and mid-level employees was in the range of 4.5 – 7.0 percent,” the company noted in its report.
Who Is K Krithivasan?
K Krithivasan became the CEO and MD of TCS on June 1, 2023.
A veteran of the Indian IT industry, he joined TCS in 1989 as an assistant system analyst in New Delhi and has spent more than three decades with the company.
Born in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, Krithivasan holds:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras
- A master’s degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
