TCS engineer commits suicide, accuses 2 female seniors of harassment
A case of suicide of a 48-year-old IT engineer of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has come to light in Pune, Maharashtra. The deceased has been identified as Amit Abhay Brahme. According to the police, he committed suicide at his home and left behind a suicide note. In which serious allegations of mental harassment have been made at the workplace. This incident has once again sparked debate about the workplace environment in the IT sector.
According to the information, in the suicide note, Amit Brahme named two senior women of the company and a male partner and alleged that he was being mentally tortured for a long time. He claimed that good projects were snatched away from him and replaced with difficult tasks which were difficult to complete on time.

Serious allegations in suicide note
During the police investigation, a two-page suicide note was recovered from the room of the deceased. It is written that he had to face constant pressure, insult and mental harassment at the workplace. It is alleged that he was repeatedly insulted in front of the team and pressured to leave the job.
Police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against two female employees and a male colleague named in the suicide note. At present no one has been arrested. Police officials say that the matter is being investigated from every aspect including the corporate environment and functioning.

Employee organization raised questions
NITES, an organization of IT employees, has expressed deep concern over the incident and demanded an investigation from the Maharashtra government. The organization has said that it should be seen whether adequate systems are in place in companies to identify and prevent mental stress of employees. The organization also informed that in January this year, another employee had also died under suspicious circumstances at the TCS campus in Hinjewadi, Pune. Such incidents continuously happening have raised serious questions regarding the working environment and employee safety in IT companies. At present the police is investigating the matter and the veracity of all the allegations is being confirmed.
