Teachers unions staged protest against mandatory Tet, submitted memorandum

Siddharthnagar. Under the leadership of Teachers Federation of India, the teachers of the district on Thursday staged a protest at the District Basic Education Officer’s office in protest against the compulsory TET and marched on foot to the District Officer’s office and gave a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister to Naib Tehsildar Amit Kumar Singh. He assured to send the memorandum to the Prime Minister through proper channel.

TFI Vice President Radheraman Tripathi said that all the teachers unions have come together on one platform and have decided to fight all-out, showing solidarity against the compulsory TET. Due to this impractical decision the teacher has to take to the streets. Tet is never acceptable under any circumstances. Former Secondary Teachers Association District General Secretary Kaleemullah said that there is a conspiracy to remove teachers by implementing such rules and it is a step towards privatization of the Basic Education Department, which the teacher community will never accept, and will fight for it at every level.

District President of Mahila Teachers Association Sushma Singh said that due to this decision the honor and respect of teachers has been hurt. When experience has been made the basis for many jobs, making TET mandatory for such experienced teachers is completely impractical, which is not acceptable. Due to the silence of the central government, teachers have been forced to take to the streets. Ramesh Chandra Mishra, district president of the former secondary union, said that earlier on February 22, teachers had launched a big Twitter campaign to protest against the compulsory TET.

Through this campaign, he conveyed his demands to the government through social media. But the government is silent, due to this the teachers are in a state of confusion. The program was also addressed by Vinay Kumar Shukla, Sanjay Kannaujiya, Brijkishore Tiwari, Arif Usmani, Karunesh Maurya, Anita etc. and the program was conducted by Yogendra Pandey, District Minister of Primary Teachers Association. During this, Lalji Yadav, Arun Singh, Sudhakar Mishra, Indrasen Singh, Nagma Bano, Naz Parveen Tasneem Jahan, Kamini Gupta, Ruchi Tyagi, Jaya Shukla Shashikant, Anita Yadav, Mastram Chaudhary, Shailendra Kumar Mishra, Savitri Chaudhary etc. were present.
