Indian team announced for T20 series against England, Shami returns

Sports Desk: The Indian team has been announced for the five-match T20 series between India and England to be held from January 22. Fast bowler Shami has returned to this team. Shami last participated for the Indian team during the World Cup in 2023. He was out of the team for more than a year due to a knee injury.

Shami has returned to this team. 34-year-old Shami made a comeback to cricket through Ranji Trophy and also participated in T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Apart from that he also participated in Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, he missed the Australia tour due to knee swelling. After which now he has returned. Whereas Rishabh Pant has been kept out of the team. Sanju Samson is the first choice as wicketkeeper. Dhruv Jurel has been included as the second wicketkeeper. Akshar Patel has been made the vice-captain for this series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has also not been included in the T20 team. Jasprit Bumrah has also been rested. Due to back strain, he did not even bowl in the fifth Test. Four spinner bowlers have been included in this team. While three fast bowlers and two fast bowling all-rounders have been included.
