India Vs New Zealand 1st ODI: In a thrilling match played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets. New Zealand had given India a target of 301 runs, which Team India achieved with 4 wickets in hand. For the Indian team, Virat Kohli scored the highest score of 93 runs while captain Shubman Gill played an inning of 56 runs.
Chasing the target of 301 runs, India had made a steady start, but after this Rohit was out after scoring 26 runs. After Sharma returned to the pavilion, Virat (93) came on the field and started scoring runs rapidly. On the other hand, Shubman Gill was out after scoring 56 runs. Shreyas Iyer, who returned after injury, scored 49 runs.
Jameson made the match exciting
At one time Team India was moving towards winning the match easily, but after Kohli and Shreyas, Kyle Jameson put Team India in trouble by taking the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja within 12 runs. This fast bowler brought the visiting team back into the match by taking 4 wickets. But, Harshit Rana reduced the pressure to a great extent by playing a quick inning of 29 runs. After this, Washington Sundar, who was suffering from injury, came to bat. In the end, KL Rahul (29 not out) along with Sundar led the team to victory.
Now only Sachin is ahead of Kohli

Kohli needed 42 runs to surpass Kumar Sangakkara’s figure of 28,016 runs. He achieved this milestone during India’s innings. Now only Sachin Tendulkar is ahead of Kohli in this list. Sachin scored 34,357 runs in 664 international matches for India.
New Zealand had scored 300 runs
Before this, New Zealand, batting first, had scored 300 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Darrell Mitchell scored the most runs for the visiting team, he played an inning of 84 runs. Whereas Conway played an inning of 56 runs and Nicholls played an inning of 62 runs. Whereas from India’s side, Mohammad Siraj, Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna took 2-2 wickets.
