Team India will tour Zimbabwe for T20 series, BCCI released the schedule, know the dates and venues of the matches.

New Delhi: BCCI has announced another foreign series of the Indian cricket team. Team India will tour Zimbabwe in July 2026, where three T20 International matches will be played between the two teams. This series will be played immediately after the recent white-ball series against England.

Complete schedule of the series

– 1st T20: 23 July 2026 (Thursday)
– 2nd T20: 25 July 2026 (Saturday)
– 3rd T20: 26 July 2026 (Sunday)

All three matches will be played at Harare Sports Club, Harare. This is the reason why the last two matches have been scheduled on two consecutive days.

Young players will get a chance

Due to there being no major T20 tournament this year, senior players of the main team cannot go on this tour. In such a situation, BCCI will give a good opportunity to young and emerging players to try themselves. Players who perform well in IPL 2026 can make a place in this series.

Regarding captaincy, there is also a possibility that in place of Suryakumar Yadav, leadership may be handed over to some other young player.

Focus on future preparations

The ODI World Cup (jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia) is going to be held in 2027, so the main focus of the Indian team will be on the ODI format. Zimbabwe will tour India in January next year and three ODI matches will be played (this will be the first time that Zimbabwe will play a bilateral ODI series in India after 25 years).

The T20 World Cup will be played in 2028. By then the Indian team would have been quite new and young. Such short T20 series in between will provide an excellent platform for new players to test themselves at the international level.

This tour will be a short but important mission for the Indian team, where future stars will get a chance to shine.
