Team India’s troubles increased amid T20 World Cup 2026, Mohammed Siraj got injured by Hardik Pandya’s strong shot!

Team India has performed brilliantly and reached Super 8 in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. After winning all the group stage matches, its first match is now to be played against South Africa on 22 February. But before this important clash, the Indian team has suffered a big setback.

Mohammad Siraj got injured

The match between India and South Africa is to be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Before the match, Team India’s practice session was going on, where fast bowler Mohammed Siraj got injured. During practice, Siraj was hit by a strong shot from Hardik Pandya, after which he had to immediately leave the field. This incident increased the concern of the team management and players.

No statement came from BCCI

Although Siraj returned to the field after some time, but according to reports he did not look completely comfortable. He appeared to be having slight trouble while running. Till now, no official statement has been issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding his injury. If the injury is found to be serious then the board may give an update soon.

Important role as backup fast bowler

It is noteworthy that Siraj was not a part of the initial 15-member squad. Earlier Harshit Rana was associated with the team, but due to a knee injury during the practice match, he had to miss the tournament. After this Siraj was included in the team. There were also questions regarding the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah, due to which Siraj got a chance to play the match against USA. In that match, he bowled brilliantly and took three wickets. Although after that he did not get a chance in the playing eleven, but considering his form, he can prove to be a strong backup for the team. Now all eyes are on Siraj’s fitness update, because in an important stage like Super 8, injury to any player can affect the team balance.
