The place is named Vattatiler because of the water flowing from above.

Kerala is known all over the world for its beauty. Both the tourist places and the natural environment of this place are wonderful. In this state there is Vattathai Falls which flows in a circle among small rocks. There is also a river at this place which has beautiful hills and mountains on both its banks. Vattathai Falls is also known by some people as Vattatiler. It is situated just five kilometers away from the famous Jadayu Para. The place is named Vattatiler because of the water flowing from the top which rotates in a circle and then flows downwards.

Ithikkara Mountain Range

Vattatiler is counted among the major tourist destinations of Kerala. This place has also been listed by the District Tourism Promotion Council. Due to which the importance of this area increases a lot. This waterfall is located in Pallikal Gram Panchayat of Thiruvananthapuram district and also borders Chadayamangalam Gram Panchayat which is in Kollam district. Vattatiler is located at a distance of 56 km from the Madattara Mountains and belongs to the Ithikkara mountain range. Because of which it also has its own special geographical importance.

There are lush green trees and plants nearby which further enhance the natural beauty of this place. This waterfall is located just four kilometers from Pallikal in Thiruvananthapuram. Anyone can reach this place by covering this short distance. This waterfall is very different from other waterfalls. Unlike normal waterfalls, water does not fall from above in this waterfall. The water of this waterfall falls through small rocks which looks very beautiful. This enhances the beauty of this place even more.
