Tejashwi Yadav sent defamation notice of Rs 12.10 crore to JDU leader, know the whole matter

Patna : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday, October 26 sent a legal notice to Janata Dal United (JDU) MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, accusing him of defamation. In this notice, Tejashwi has demanded damages of Rs 12.10 crore from Neeraj and has also requested for an unconditional public apology.

This notice sent by Tejashwi runs into eight pages and has been prepared by a Delhi law firm. RJD has shared a copy of this notice on social media. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi objected to the JDU leader's statement given on October 21, in which Neeraj had accused Tejashwi of underreporting his income, terming it a salary scam.

In the notice, Tejashwi termed Neeraj's allegations as frivolous and said that their aim is to tarnish his reputation. Describing Tejashwi as a rising star of Indian politics, the notice termed Neeraj Kumar's remarks not only derogatory but also extremely objectionable.

Tejashwi has asked Neeraj Kumar to pay Rs 12 crore as damages along with Rs 10 lakh as the cost of the notice. He also clarified that Neeraj will have to tender an unconditional public apology within 10 days of receiving the notice. If this is not done, Tejashwi has warned of appropriate legal action against Neeraj under relevant sections of the BNS.

This development can give a new turn to the political turmoil in Bihar, especially when Tejashwi Yadav and his party are taking the matter seriously. The discussion of this dispute is expected to spread rapidly in political circles, which may further increase the tension between the two parties.
