Tejashwi’s security decreased and that of NDA leaders increased, RJD raised questions
Sanjay Singh, Patna. The security of Tejashwi Yadav, leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly, has been cut. Now they will be given Y plus security instead of Z category security. Political controversy has started due to reduced security. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed has expressed serious reaction to the reduction in security. They allege that this step has been taken to humiliate the leader of the opposition. Now attacks and counterattacks are going on from both sides on this dispute.
Before the Bihar Assembly elections, Rabri Devi had alleged that some leaders were plotting to murder her son. After this allegation, Tejashwi’s security was increased. Nitish government minister Jama Khan has called this allegation baseless. The minister says that security is reviewed from time to time. Security is increased or decreased by assessing the threat. However, RJD is continuously attacking the ruling party due to this issue.

Security was increased on Rabri’s allegation
During the last assembly session, there was a heated debate in the assembly between Tejashwi Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Then Tejashwi’s mother and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi had alleged that her son could be murdered due to political rivalry. After this statement of Rabri, the government machinery was activated and his security was increased to Z category. Even during the assembly elections, his security remained increased but now after about 3 months of the assembly elections, his security has been reduced to Y Plus.
Security increased for BJP and JDU leaders
After review by the Nitish government, while the security of BJP and JDU leaders has been increased, the security of Tejashwi Yadav has been reduced. BJP national president Nitin Naveen, Union minister Lalan Singh, Bihar state BJP president Sanjay Saraogi, Union minister Giriraj Singh and state government health minister Mangal Pandey have been given Z category security. A total of 22 soldiers including four to five NSG commandos are deployed in Z category security. This includes Delhi Police, ICBP or CRPF commandos and local policemen. Whereas Y Plus Security has 11 security personnel. These include one or two commandos and two PSOs.
What did RJD spokesperson say?
RJD spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed alleged that the government is not serious about the security of the opposition leader. The security of the Leader of the Opposition has been reduced as part of a conspiracy. If any untoward incident happens to them, it will be the full responsibility of the state government. It does not suit the state government to behave like this with the leader of the opposition. An example of the double standards of the state government is the fact that the security of JDU and BJP leaders was increased unnecessarily.

What did Minister Jama Khan say?
Nitish government minister Jama Khan has targeted the opposition and said that Tejashwi Yadav often remains missing from the assembly. Like before, he is no longer seen active among the public. In such a situation, the reduction in their security is completely in accordance with the rules. The minister further said that the NDA government neither suppresses anyone nor does it discriminate against anyone. Security arrangements are made based on set standards and assessment of circumstances. Therefore making such allegations is baseless.
