Political controversy in Telangana: Chief Minister’s statement on BJP’s target
New Delhi. A new political controversy has arisen in Telangana before Christmas. After state Chief Minister Revanth Reddy gave credit for Christmas celebration to Sonia Gandhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has termed it as insulting towards the Christian community. BJP reacted sharply to this statement and said that the limits of flattery of Congress leaders have been crossed.
BJP’s counterattack
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala, reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement, said that Revanth Reddy has crossed all limits of flattery by linking the Christmas celebration with Sonia Gandhi. After this he also jokingly said that Revanth Reddy may also say tomorrow that the sun rises in the east because of Sonia Gandhi.
Accusations on Congress
Poonawala accused the Congress that the party is always busy in glorifying only one family and it has done nothing by glorifying Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, B.R. The contribution of national leaders like Ambedkar and Birsa Munda has been underestimated. He said that this statement of Revanth Reddy insults the entire Christian community and he should immediately apologize for it.
Revanth Reddy’s statement
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said at a meeting that the credit for celebrating Christmas in Telangana should be given to Sonia Gandhi as she has made sacrifices for the state. Describing December as a month of miracles for Congress and Telangana, he pointed out Sonia Gandhi’s birthday on December 9 and said that her contribution has been important in realizing the long-standing dream of the people.
