Telangana: KCR’s daughter Kavita launches new party ‘Telangana Rashtra Sena’ 7 months after leaving BRS

Hyderabad, 25 April. Former Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR)’s daughter and founder of Telangana Jagruti K. Kavitha on Saturday launched a new political party Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS) here, almost seven months after leaving Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Kavita paid floral tributes to those martyred in the 1969 movement to declare Telangana a separate state at the Amarveerula Stupam in Gun Park, Hyderabad. During this he announced plans to launch a new regional political force and said it would focus on the state’s ‘aspirations and unfinished agenda’.

‘I did not leave BRS voluntarily but I and my supporters were expelled.’

Former MLC Kavitha said that she and her supporters were ‘expelled’ from BRS. He did not leave the party voluntarily. BRS party was formed to fulfill the regional aspirations of Telangana, but they changed their name, work and the soul of the party, resulting in a loss of connect with the public. When a party deviates from its core issue, it cannot survive.

Need of a regional party to fulfill the incomplete agenda-aspirations of Telangana

Kavitha said, ‘To fulfill the incomplete agenda and aspirations of Telangana, we need a regional party, which will be our party. The BRS party, of which my father is the president, has expelled us. We have not abandoned him, neither the family nor the party. We have been expelled. I don’t want to talk about this. But I am the daughter of Telangana. Telangana is in my blood, I have the courage for it. We are very determined, completely dedicated to our goal.

‘The people of Telangana are my family, the fragrance of the soil of Telangana will inspire us’

He said, ‘We have spent 20 years of our lives in the Telangana movement. To develop Telangana, to fulfill its aspirations, whether our old party is there or not, whether our family is with us or not, I believe that the people of Telangana are my family. The fragrance of the soil of Telangana will inspire us.

last year alleged Was suspended from BRS on charges of ‘anti-party activities’

It is noteworthy that Kavita’s exit from BRS turned into an unpleasant development after she was suspended from the party on charges of alleged ‘anti-party activities’ in September 2025. Kavitha was suspended from the party following her comments against BRS leaders T Harish Rao and J Santosh Rao.

After leaving the post of MLC, he also left the party in January this year.

After the suspension, he attacked Harish Rao and Santosh Rao, accusing them of conspiring with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to ‘destroy the family and the party’. He also resigned from the post of MLC and then announced to formally leave BRS in January, 2026.
