Telangana RTC employees strike continues for second day, passengers upset
Employees demonstrated at many places in support of 32 demands
Hyderabad (Language) As the indefinite strike by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) employees continued for the second day on Thursday, passengers had to depend on private transport. The employees expressed their concern including the merger of RTC with the government. 32 Protested at many places in support of the demands.
RTC tried to run private and electric buses for the convenience of the public. Passengers arriving at bus stands had to wait for a long time to catch the bus. Some passengers told the media that due to non-availability of buses, private vehicles including autos were charging heavy fares.
Leaders of the opposition party Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) supported the striking employees and asked the government to accept their demands. Former BRS MLA Methuku Anand took part in the protest at Tandoor in Vikarabad district.
