Telugu Film Critics Association lodges complaint against Srikanth Iyengar for derogatory remarks

On Saturday, the Film Critics Association filed a complaint against actor Srikanth Iyengar for making derogatory comments about movie reviewers. The complaint letter was addressed to Manchu Vishnu, president of the Movie Artists Association (MAA).

M. Laxminarayan, general secretary of the critics’ association, stated in the letter, “Srikanth Iyengar lashed out at the media and film reviewers with strong language and used words that should be said about the media. All the media groups are strongly condemning his speech.” Laxminarayan, on behalf of the critics’ association, further requested Manchu Vishnu to take appropriate action against the actor.

Srikanth Iyengar was addressing the media and attendees at the press meet for Pottel that was held on Saturday when he made the said remarks. Referring to the film reviewers, the actor said at the press meet, “We should all come together and stop these parasites.” Srikanth, who has acted in films like Ante Sundaraniki and King King Choraplayed a small part in Pot that hit theatres on October 25.

Meanwhile, the digital media artists’ association has decided not to attend any media events of Srikanth’s films until the actor issues an official apology.
