The mercury reached minus three degrees in the valley of Kashmir, tourists are enjoying the calm atmosphere and cold.

New Delhi. The havoc of cold continues in the valley of Kashmir. The temperature has gone below zero in the entire area. According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Srinagar has been recorded at -2.9 Celsius. As temperatures drop in the region, hazy mornings have become common. Local people are burning wood and strolling near Dal Lake. Tourists are coming to enjoy the calm atmosphere and cold. Other areas with sub-zero temperatures were Pahalgam (-2.8°C), Qazigund (-1.6°C), and Kupwara (-2.4°C). While some places like Gulmarg (1.6°C) and Kokernag (0.1°C) have recorded mercury.

Let us tell you that the maximum temperature during the day in these areas remains between 8°C and 14°C. Almost everyone has to wear warm clothes before going out, but this has not significantly affected the locals in their daily lives. When asked about the cold wave, local people said that it is definitely very cold here. But it’s good chill and fun too. No matter what the temperature is, this cold does not have much effect on the common man. While telling other people how to deal with such extreme cold, he said that they should come out of their homes, there is no need to be afraid of cold. Leave the comfortable room and heater and start running in the morning so that your body remains fit and healthy. I follow the same routine throughout the year, whether it’s snowing or raining. When asked about tourists coming from other states, he said that tourism is the lifeblood of Kashmir and it is a great thing that they are now coming to enjoy the winter. He further said that after coming to Kashmir, they will forget the heat and people will welcome them wherever they go.
