Temperature will increase in Delhi-UP, heat wave may occur in Rajasthan and Gujarat; Chance of rain in 8 states

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that a warning of heat wave (hot winds) has been issued in some areas of Rajasthan, Vidarbha (a part of Maharashtra) and Gujarat, that is, there can be very intense heat and dry hot winds, which can be dangerous for health. But the good news is that rain alert has also been issued in 8 states of the country, which may provide some relief from the heat at some places.

According to IMD, for the next three days, the day temperature in Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh may remain 5 to 7 degrees Celsius higher than normal, that is, a lot of heat will be felt there. The temperature in the plains of North-West India, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh is also expected to be 4 to 6 degrees above normal till March 11. A new Western Disturbance is becoming active, due to which there may be occasional rain or snowfall in the Western Himalayan areas till March 15. There is a possibility of strong winds, thunderstorms and hailstorm along with sporadic rain between March 10 and 12 in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal. Especially in Jammu and Kashmir, there may be heavy rain at some places on March 10 and 11.

Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in high altitude areas in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from March 9 to 15. There may be strong winds (30-50 km per hour), rain with thunder and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir on March 9 to 12 and in Himachal on March 11, 12, 14 and 15. Talking about the eastern areas, there may be light rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from March 10 to 13, and in Gangetic plains West Bengal on March 9-10. There are chances of rain and thundershowers in Bihar and Jharkhand on March 10-11. In the north-east, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Arunachal Pradesh from 9 to 15 March and in Kerala-Mahe on 10 March.

Delhi weather

The heat has now completely dominated the capital Delhi. There will be strong sunlight during the day and the temperature will go quite high. Today the sky may be partly cloudy, but there is no possibility of rain. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 to 37-39 degrees Celsius, which is much higher than normal. The minimum temperature will also be around 23-24 degrees, which means the nights will also be warm. Light hot winds may blow. In the next 4 days, the temperature may increase by 2-3 degrees, due to which the heat will be felt more intense. At present there is no major rain alert in Delhi, hence people should protect themselves from sunlight, drink more water and be careful while going out.

How will the weather be in Uttar Pradesh today?

The effect of heat is increasing in Uttar Pradesh also. The sun will be strong in most areas and the temperature will be above normal. Like Delhi, here too the temperature may increase by 2-3 degrees in the next few days. Night temperatures are also being recorded higher than normal, due to which humidity and heat will be felt even at nights. There is no major alert of rain yet, but there may be sporadic chances of light thunder and rain in some western or eastern parts. Overall, it is important to be cautious of the heat these days across North India. Carry an umbrella, water bottle and light clothes while going out.
