Temple theft case exposed: Three accused arrested with stolen goods, CNG auto also recovered
Triveniganj. The police have successfully busted the incidents of theft in temples under Rajeshwari police station and Shankarpur police station area of bordering Madhepura district and arrested three accused with stolen goods. In this regard, SDPO Vibhash Kumar organized a press conference in his office on Sunday and gave information about the entire matter.
SDPO said that recently incidents of theft were reported in the temples of Triveniganj police station area and Rajeshwari police station area. Meanwhile, information about an incident of theft was also received in a temple in Shankarpur police station area of border Madhepura district. Let us tell you that there was resentment among the local people due to continuous targeting of religious places.
SDPO said that in view of the seriousness of the incidents, Supaul district and Madhepura police jointly launched a special operation. On the instructions of SP, a special team was formed under the leadership of SDPO Vibhash Kumar, in which Triveniganj police station, Shankarpur police station and DIU teams of both the districts were included. The formed team raided various suspicious locations on the basis of technical research, observation of CCTV footage and human information.
During the raid, the police found important clues, on the basis of which three accused were arrested on Saturday. The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Sajid, son of Mohammad Abbu Talib, resident of Madheli Bazar of Shankarpur police station area, Ashish Kumar, son of Surendra Yadav and Ankit Kumar, son of Rajkishore Gupta, resident of Gamharia police station area.
The police have also recovered many important items stolen from temples from the arrested accused. These include five bells and bells weighing about 19 kg, about 380 grams of silver ornaments related to the adornment of the Mother Goddess, silver anklets of 15 grams, crown of 50 grams, ghungroos of 35 grams and a silver umbrella of 230 grams. Apart from this, a CNG auto used in the theft incident has also been seized.
SDPO Vibhash Kumar said that the arrested accused have been interrogated and the search is on for other people associated with the gang. Action is being taken to arrest them too. He said that incidents of theft at religious places will not be tolerated at any cost and strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.
The people of the area have heaved a sigh of relief due to this action of the police. The raid team included Triveniganj police station incharge Rakesh Kumar, Shankarpur police station incharge Rajeev Kumar, Triveniganj SI Rajan Kumar, Shankarpur police station ASI Mahitosh Parasar, DIU team Supaul and Madhepura and armed forces Supaul and Madhepura.
