Temples broken at Manikarnika Ghat in Kashi, FIR lodged against Sanjay Singh for raising questions
Manikarnika Ghat: In Kashi, where faith resides in every particle, today questions are being raised whether the voice of protection of religion has now started making the government uncomfortable. Sanjay Singh alleges that during the tenure of the BJP government, the temples, pagodas and the statue of pious ruler Ahilyabai Holkar ji located on the banks of Mother Ganga were damaged.
He has called it a direct attack on the faith of Hindu religion. Sanjay Singh says that when he raised this issue, instead of taking action against the culprits, an FIR was registered against them.
Salvation is achieved after the last rites.
Manikarnika Ghat is not just a place, but the basis of Hindu faith. This ghat was built by Ahilyabai Holkar ji in the 18th century. It is believed that after the last rites one attains salvation here. Allegations of vandalism at such a holy place created deep anger in the minds of saints, local people and devotees. Sadhus of Kashi opposed it, Ahilyabai Holkar ji’s family raised their voice and even former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan lodged an objection. Despite this, action was taken against the leader who brought forward this issue.
Strict action against those who cause harm
Sanjay Singh clearly said that he is not afraid of these lawsuits. He says that if temples are destroyed and statues are broken, then it is a sin to remain silent. He has demanded from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that strict action should be taken against those who damage temples, and those who raise questions should not be intimidated.
If protesting is a crime then…
Aam Aadmi Party has adopted a clear stand on this entire matter. Party’s national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda said that if protesting against BJP’s act of demolishing temples at Manikarnika Ghat is a crime, then it shows that BJP is now bent upon crushing the sentiments of Hindus. He says that Aam Aadmi Party has never been afraid and will not be afraid in future.
Battle of history and public trust
Today, only one question is echoing from the streets of Kashi to the social media, why is the government silent when temples are damaged, and why FIR when talking about faith? The Aam Aadmi Party describes itself as standing with the Hindu faith on this issue and presents Sanjay Singh as a leader who, despite the pressure of power, has emerged as the voice of religion and public sentiment. This fight is not about any one FIR, but about faith, history and public trust, which cannot be suppressed.
