Dharni. Bus accident: 12 people died when a speeding private travel bus overturned in a drain near Semadoh village of Dharni tehsil. This includes six teachers. Four of them are women teachers. Teachers working in various schools of Melghat were traveling in this private bus to go to school on Monday morning.
This bus of Chawla company which left Amravati at 5:30 in the morning, reached late by 15 minutes (Bus accident). From there, to cover the time of Dharni, the bus driver drove fast on the busy road of Melghat. At around 8 o'clock, the bus fell into the drain near Semmadoh village.
Many passengers were injured in this. The deceased also included Rajendra Pal Babu, who recently retired from Vasantrao Naik College of Dharni. The bodies were brought to Achalpur Upazila Hospital. Sources said that the injured were admitted to government hospitals in Dharni and Paratwada.
