Cyber ​​Fraud: Terror of cyber thugs, digital arrest of retired bank employee and looted Rs 1.73 crore, Meerut Police arrested two

Meerut: Meerut Police has arrested two accused from West Delhi who committed cyber fraud of Rs 1.73 crore from a retired bank employee and his wife. Giving information about this case, the police spokesperson said that the accused kept collecting money from the victim by keeping him in digital arrest for five days as part of a fraud.

Cyber ​​​​thugs pretended to be CBI officers

Retired bank employee Suraj Prakash had received a phone call on September 17, in which the swindlers, posing as CBI officers, said that a case of money laundering worth Rs 6.80 crore had been registered against him in Maharashtra. The accused threatened to send Suraj to jail and tried to intimidate him. Under this pressure, he got Rs 1.73 crore transferred to various bank accounts.

In this regard, Suraj Prakash lodged a complaint in the cyber crime police station, on the basis of which the police registered a case. One of the three teams of the police station cyber crime identified the accused Pankaj Vishwakarma and left for Delhi for necessary investigation. Police arrested Pankaj Vishwakarma and Sukhpreet Singh Bajaj during investigation.

Police have arrested 8 cyber thugs

Police spokesperson said that till now a total of eight accused have been arrested in this case. Investigation has revealed that the accused have also withdrawn approximately Rs 8,74,000 from eight ATM machines in Dubai. The spokesperson said that Sukhpreet Singh Bajaj has to visit the house of his two sisters in Dubai, due to which his connection is also being exposed in this case.

Police have started a thorough investigation into this case and the search for the remaining accused is going on. Amidst the increasing cases of cyber crimes, this action of the police is being considered an important step.
