A special wing of the terrorist organization TRF (The Resistance Front), called ‘Falcon Squad’, has issued posters warning Kashmiri Pandits to leave the valley or face dire consequences.1. What is ‘Falcon Squad’?According to security agencies, Falcon Squad is not a new organization but a ‘hit squad’ of TRF, the proxy organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Methodology: This squad is trained for ‘Target Killing’. Their main function is to suddenly target unarmed civilians, Kashmiri Pandits and government employees and run away. Latest threat: Viral posters have described Kashmiri Pandits as “occupiers” and warned them to vacate the valley as soon as possible.2. Increasing anger and fear among Kashmiri Pandits. After these threats, there is deep concern about security among Kashmiri Pandits: PM Package Employees: PM Package employees working in the valley are once again demanding relocation. Protests: There have also been protests against these threats in some areas, where people have demanded adequate security and safe accommodation from the administration.3. Action of administration and security forces: Police has increased its activism after the threatening posters went viral: Search Operation: Intensive search operations (Cordon and Search Operations) are being conducted in sensitive districts like Srinagar, Shopian and Kulgam. Cyber Cell Active: The cyber cell of the police is tracking the social media handles from where these posters and threatening messages are being spread. Security Audit: Security around the colonies of Kashmiri Pandits and their workplaces. The cordon has been further strengthened. New strategy of terrorists: Psychological Warfare. Experts believe that after being weakened on the ground, terrorists are now trying to create psychological pressure through ‘digital threats’ and posters so that the process of peace and development in the valley can be disrupted.
