Terror Plot Busted: Foreign conspiracy against India foiled, NIA arrested 7 foreigners, there was a plan to supply drones on Myanmar border
News India Live, Digital Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has exposed a huge international conspiracy to breach the country’s security. NIA has arrested 7 foreign nationals for their involvement in terrorist activities against India. The arrested accused include 6 citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of America. All of them are facing serious allegations of supplying weapons and sophisticated drones to the rebel groups of Myanmar through India. Mizoram became the center of conspiracy! Investigation has revealed that all these accused had come to India on valid visas, but their activities were suspicious. Entry without permit: The accused had reached Mizoram without the mandatory ‘Restricted Area Permit’ (RAP). Myanmar Connection: These people from Mizoram illegally entered the Myanmar border and there they Met the Ethnic Armed Groups, which are involved in anti-India activities. Drone Smuggling: According to NIA, these foreign nationals were procuring huge quantities of drones and other terrorist equipment from Europe and transporting them to the rebel groups based in Myanmar through India. Major action under UAPA. These arrests were carried out by various teams of NIA through a covert and coordinated operation. Arrest in Kolkata: The American citizen was detained by the Immigration Bureau at the Kolkata airport when he was trying to leave the country. Strict sections: An FIR has been registered against all the accused under Section 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other relevant sections. Technical investigation: Now the investigating agency is analyzing the social media accounts and electronic devices of these accused to trace their sleeper cells within India. To be found out. Why is this a matter of concern for India? Taking advantage of the instability in the north-eastern states bordering Myanmar (such as Mizoram and Manipur), these rebel groups provide training and weapons to Indian militants. Drone technology can be used for both surveillance and attack, which is a big challenge for the Indian security forces.
