Terrorist conspiracy in India! 8 suspects linked to ISI and Bangladesh arrested
Delhi Police Special Cell busted a suspected terror module with alleged links to Pakistan’s **ISI** and Bangladeshi extremist groups (some reports mention Lashkar-e-Taiba/LeT connection), and arrested **eight suspects** in a coordinated operation.
**Six** persons were detained from a garment manufacturing unit in **Tiruppur district** of Tamil Nadu (specific areas: Uthukuli, Palladam, Thirumuruganpoondi), identified as **Mijanur Rahman** (or Mijanur Rahman), **Mohammed Shabat** (or Mohammed Shabat), **Umar**, **Mohammed Liton**, **Mohammed Shahid**, and **Mohammed Ujjal** (or Mohammad Ujjal). **Two** more people were arrested in **West Bengal**. At least one is a Bangladeshi citizen; Some suspects allegedly used fake Aadhaar cards to hide their identities.
Police recovered **dozens of mobile phones** (reports said eight phones and 16 SIM cards) and SIM cards for digital evidence, conversations with foreign handlers and forensic analysis of a possible larger network. The suspects are being brought to Delhi for questioning.
The module came to light after **provocative posters** (including “Free Kashmir” slogans with inflammatory content referring to Kashmir) were seen at over 10 locations in Delhi, including the Delhi Metro network, raising security concerns. Special Cell investigation revealed that it had originated from the network of Tamil Nadu.
Officials described it as a major success in foiling a possible **major terrorist attack** in India, which was being directed by foreign handlers (one of whom was reportedly from Kashmir in Bangladesh). The suspects reportedly spied in cities, posted content in support of terrorism online, and planned attacks (some intel pointed to crowded places such as the Red Fort or temples, although not all reports confirmed this). The investigation is uncovering funding, and operative and cross-border links. There is no difference in the main facts; Some reports have added specific details or target information of LeT.
