Shabbir Ahmed Lone LeT Terrorist Arrest : The national capital Delhi was once again under the threat of terrorists, but due to the promptness shown by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police, a major calamity was averted. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Shabbir Ahmed Lone, an active member and handler of this banned outfit, has been arrested. This was not just a common terrorist, he was controlling terror modules in India from Bangladesh. His arrest has once again exposed the anti-India face of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI to the world.

Red Fort and Metro: The New Map of Terror

According to the investigation agencies, Shabbir Ahmed Lone’s target was Delhi’s historic Red Fort and metro stations. Shabbir was the mastermind of the module which was recently caught by the police for spreading terror by putting up posters in the metro. From Bangladesh, he used to send instructions to his companions through encrypted apps. His plan was to spy on crowded places in Delhi and detonate huge explosions there.

Use of fake Aadhaar cards and intruders

Shabbir Ahmed Loan’s area of operation was in Bangladesh. From there, he used to search for Bangladeshi nationals who had entered India illegally. They were being ‘brainwashed’ and prepared to commit acts of terrorism in India in the name of Jihad. Shockingly, Shabbir was instrumental in getting these infiltrators fake Aadhaar cards and other government documents to stay in India. In February 2026, 7 of the 8 people arrested by the police were Bangladeshi nationals who were ‘set up’ in India by Shabbir himself.

Training in Muzaffarabad and history of 2007

Shabbir Ahmed Lone is not a new criminal. He underwent advanced military training at Lashkar-e-Taiba camp in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan. He was directly in touch with Hafiz Saeed and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi. Earlier also in 2007 Delhi Police arrested him with AK-47 and grenades. However, after being released on bail, he fled to Bangladesh and reactivated his network from there.

Great performance of investigative agencies

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police conducted a months-long undercover operation to expose the entire network. Shabbir’s arrest has destroyed a major Lashkar-e-Toiba sleeper cell module in India. This has prevented possible attacks in the future and the investigation agencies are now looking for his other accomplices.
