Terrorists attack international airport in Niger, 22 attackers killed
Niger Airport Terror Attack: A major terrorist attack took place in Niamey, the capital of the African country Niger, when terrorists associated with Al-Qaeda attacked the international airport. According to reports, at least 11 soldiers of Niger were killed and 2 civilians also lost their lives in this terrorist attack.

However, the security forces retaliated and killed 22 attackers on the spot. How big this attack was can be gauged from the fact that the sounds of firing continued to echo in the airport and its surrounding areas for several hours.
According to reports, Niger’s Defense Ministry said that the attackers had targeted the capital’s Diori Hamani International Airport. The security forces took immediate action and foiled the attack. During this period, 20 suspects have also been arrested. Arms and ammunition have been recovered from them.
Terrorists came by taxi
According to eyewitnesses, indiscriminate firing suddenly started near the main security checkpoint of the airport at around 6 am on Thursday morning. The terrorists had come in a taxi and as soon as they were stopped at the security cordon, they started firing bullets. After this the encounter started between the army and the terrorists. Local people came out on the streets with sticks and weapons to help the security forces and started driving away the terrorists.
