This electric SUV is based on the same concept which was introduced in (Japan Mobility Show 2025) under the name Honda 0 Alpha. The company plans to launch it in the Indian market by financial year 2026-27. The special thing is that this SUV will be produced in India only and from here it will be exported to other countries also. It is believed that the starting ex-showroom price of this electric SUV can be around Rs 20 lakh and its range can be around 500 kilometers on a single charge. If this happens then it can become a strong contender in the midsize electric SUV segment.
Companies like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, MG Motor India, Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki are already present in the electric SUV segment in the Indian market. In such a situation, competition is expected to intensify with Honda’s entry. According to the company, this electric SUV will be tested in different road and weather conditions. In this, the performance of the vehicle will be tested on highways, city traffic and challenging roads. Besides, its durability, ride comfort, handling and charging performance will also be assessed during the scorching heat and monsoon.
On this occasion, Takashi Nakajima, President and CO, Honda Cars India Limited, said that starting testing on public roads across India is a big step towards the company’s electrification mission. He said that India’s driving and weather conditions are different, so it is important to test the vehicles in real conditions. The company aims to offer reliable, comfortable and easy-to-drive electric SUVs to customers.
