‘Thackeray family does not have the strength to stop Mumbai’, Fadnavis hits back at Raut’s ’10 minutes’ threat!

A statement by veteran Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has created a stir in the politics of Maharashtra. While speaking in a program of a private news channel, Raut claimed with great confidence that even today the Thackeray family has so much power that it can shut down the entire Mumbai within just 10 minutes. He stressed that it is impossible to erase the name of Thackeray family from Maharashtra politics.

Raut further said that the Thackeray family is one of the most influential families in the state. He argued that even if there are wins and losses in elections, his hold on the politics of the state is as strong today as it was before. According to him, opponents should not harbor the misconception that their strength has diminished.

Fadnavis gave a befitting reply

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has sharply retaliated on this claim of Sanjay Raut. Terming it a ‘hollow threat’, Fadnavis said that there was a time when Mumbai used to come to a standstill at a single gesture of late Bal Thackeray. The Chief Minister taunted and said that now he no longer has that power and influence. This statement of Fadnavis has made it clear that BJP has now completely rejected that old fear of Thackeray brand.

Raut’s eyes on BMC elections

This statement of Sanjay Raut has come at a time when a big change is being seen in the politics of Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray are seen together after a long gap of almost 20 years. This rapprochement is considered very important in view of the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. Raut has expressed confidence that this time only the Thackeray group in BMC will become the mayor, although he also indicated that Raj Thackeray’s MNS may have to compromise on some issues for the alliance.

Great roar of brothers in Shivaji Park

This evening, Mumbai’s historic Shivaji Park will once again witness when Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray will address the public meeting from the same stage. Earlier, in their joint meeting held in Nashik on January 9, both of them had fiercely targeted BJP. Questioning BJP’s Hindutva, Uddhav had even said that BJP has become so “shameless” that it can even include Ravana in its party. At the same time, Raj Thackeray had accused BJP of misleading people in the name of religion and caste and appealed to the people to hand over power once.
