A traffic dispute in Bangkok resulted in the death of a 49-year-old delivery driver after a car struck his motorbike on Sukhumvit Road on Tuesday.

Deputy investigation chief Jarin Rattanasuwanchai of the Lumpini police station said a Toyota car was found near the severely damaged motorbike of the deliveryman Ritthisak Prakuptanont at the scene.

The car’s driver, 31-year-old Seree Srettheenamwong, was arrested following the incident, the Bangkok Post reported.

Police stated that Seree was driving his car when he hit Prakuptanont’s motorbike. After the collision, Seree left the scene. Prakuptanont pursued the car, intending to address damage to his vehicle. He eventually intercepted Seree and positioned his motorbike in front of the car, hoping to discuss the damage.

According to Thai NewsSeree got out of the vehicle and punched Prakuptanont to the ground. As Prakuptanont attempted to flee on his motorbike, Seree chased him and rammed his car into the two-wheeled vehicle. The impact propelled Prakuptanont into a metal pole, which proved to be fatal.

Prakuptanont is survived by his wife, 40-year-old Saijai Tamboon, and their four children, aged 8-18.

Seree Srettheenamwong has been charged with murder and reckless driving and is currently held in police custody. The investigation into the fatal incident is ongoing.
