According to the Thai Government, the new checkpoint is located between boundary markers 23/9 and 23/10 and will replace the existing crossing between markers 22 and 23. It will operate daily from 5:00 to 23:00.
The Government’s spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek said relevant agencies have been instructed to accelerate the construction of connecting roads and address traffic congestion on the Thai side of the border crossing.
Government agencies have been directed to provide businesses, the private sector and local residents with information on transport routes, customs procedures, immigration channels and government measures designed to facilitate cross-border trade and tourism.

The cabinet also approved a draft joint statement for Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s official visit to Malaysia on July 9-10 at the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim, China’s Xinhua News Agency reported.
The draft statement outlines directions for expanding bilateral cooperation in several key areas, including border development, transport connectivity, security cooperation to combat transnational crime and economic partnership, with particular emphasis on food and energy security.
As of May, Malaysia has welcomed 17.5 million foreign tourists, maintaining its position as the most visited country in Southeast Asia, Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Chiew Choon Man said as reported by Malay Mail newspaper.
Thailand came in second in the region with 14 million arrivals in the first five months of the year.
