‘Thanks to India’, why did Iran praise Modi government in the midst of war?
Iran thanked India as Navy vessel IRIS Lavan docked in Kochi following the IRIS Dena incident in the Indian Ocean. The US recently sank the Iranian naval ship IRIS Dena with torpedoes in international waters near Sri Lanka. 87 people lost their lives in this. Sri Lanka’s Naunessa has saved 32 people.
Meanwhile, India has given shelter to the second Iranian ship IRIS Lavan present in the Indian Ocean in its port. It has been docked at Kochi Port for technical and logistics arrangements. Iran’s Ambassador to India Mohammad Fatahli thanked India in this matter.

Speaking to news agency ANI, the Iranian Ambassador said, we thank the Government of India and the people of India for their valuable support and cooperation. We are confident that the historic and good relations between Tehran and New Delhi will continue to grow and strengthen in the future.
IRIS Dena case is being investigated: Iran
He further said that Iran is monitoring the condition of the crew members following the tragic incident involving the Iranian vessel IRIS Dena in the waters of the Indian Ocean. Different aspects of this incident are being investigated. In this context, another Iranian ship IRIS Lavan has been docked at Kochi Port, India for technical and logistics arrangements.

‘It shows friendly relations’
Mohammad Fatahli said that I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Government of India and the local authorities for their cooperation in facilitating the docking of this vessel and supporting the crew. The excellent coordination and cooperation of the Indian authorities in these difficult circumstances clearly reflects the long-standing friendly relations between our two countries.
Docking permission was sought on 28th February
Let us tell you that on February 28, the Iranian ship had contacted India. Due to technical problem with the vessel, docking has been requested at Kochi Port. Docking permission was granted on 1 March. On 4 March, IRIS Lavan docked at Kochi Port. 183 crew members of the ship are staying in Kochi.
