That defeat from Pakistan… when Afghan fans were ready to die
Tension has been seen on the field in the recent matches between the cricket teams of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Relations between the two countries are tense, due to which fans no longer want to see their team lose. Pakistani fans call the defeat from India an embarrassment. Now they are not able to tolerate the defeat from Afghanistan also. On the other hand, the fans of Afghanistan also do not want to see their team losing to Pakistan at any cost.
After the defeat by Pakistan in the 2022 Asia Cup, Afghan fans were so enraged that they started creating ruckus in the Sharjah Stadium. They threw chairs at Pakistani fans and made them run and beat them. In this Super-4 match, after scoring 129 runs, Afghanistan had reduced Pakistan to 119 runs by 9 wickets and was close to victory. But in the last over, Naseem Shah snatched the victory from him by hitting two consecutive sixes. Afghanistan fans became very sad due to this heart-breaking defeat. Rahmanullah Gurbaz has revealed that some people in Afghanistan had even committed suicide.

Memories of defeat still fresh
Afghanistan’s opener Gurbaz has told in a podcast that the memories of that defeat are still fresh. Gurbaz has said, ‘That was the most heart-breaking match for me. People in Afghanistan had become very sad. Many people cried. Some people even sacrificed their lives. We have very emotional people here. We players also feel sad because we play for our people.
Gurbaz further said, ‘Even today I remember that match, I have very sad memories of it. Whenever I go to Sharjah Stadium, the memories of that defeat become fresh. Even today I feel that we should have won that match. We didn’t bat well, but bowled well. Yet in the end we lost.

There was a fight on the field also
Afghanistan’s fast bowler Farid Ahmed took the wicket of Asif Ali on the fifth ball of the 19th over. Asif Ali had scored 16 runs in 7 balls and remained a threat to Afghanistan. In such a situation, Farid celebrated aggressively after taking his important wicket. After this Asif got enraged and even pushed Farid. Asif also tried to use the bat on Farid. Later both were fined 25-25 percent of the match fee.
