After Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum tore his achilles in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Indiana Pacers, most didn’t think they’d see the six-time All-Star back on the floor this season.
But as we approach the NBA’s All-Star break, Celtics fans may be excused for getting excited about a potential return this year for their franchise cornerstone. The almost-28 year old has started playing in “controlled five-on-five scrimmaging with coaches,” per NBA insider Shams Charania and will now head to the G-League Maine Celtics to begin practicing with them
Even without Tatum, the Celtics are third in the Eastern Conference over halfway through the campaign.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. While Shams said Tatum still has “more boxes to check,” before returning to the hardwood, a fresh and healthy Tatum for a postseason run in Boston is a scary prospect for the rest of the NBA.
