The administration is helpless regarding the dead body of Twisha Sharma! Due to lack of facilities, police wrote a letter to the family members
Bhopal: Twisha Sharma’s body has been kept in the AIIMS mortuary since May 13 in Bhopal. The family is demanding re-postmortem and is refusing to perform the last rites. Meanwhile, Bhopal Police has written a letter to Twisha’s parents informing them that the body has started decomposing. AIIMS does not have the facilities to keep him safe for long.
Police requested the family to take the body
According to media reports, Twisha’s family members are continuously accusing her in-laws of murder. Police wrote in the letter that Twisha’s body had been in the mortuary for a long time and the possibility of it decomposing had increased. Therefore, the family is requested to make arrangements to collect the dead body.
-80 degree temperature required, only -4 degree facility in AIIMS
Police clarified in the letter that the temperature of Bhopal AIIMS mortuary is -4 degrees Celsius. To prevent the dead body from decomposing for a long time, a temperature of -80 degrees Celsius is required. This facility is not present in Bhopal AIIMS. According to the police, the first post-mortem of Twisha was completed on May 13 itself. Police said they had no objection to conducting the post-mortem again.
Postmortem should be done in Delhi AIIMS – father’s demand
Twisha’s father Navnidhi Sharma is demanding re-postmortem in Delhi AIIMS. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he said that Twisha’s last rites will be performed with peace and dignity only after all the forensic procedures are completed.
Many questions raised on post mortem
It is noteworthy that questions are also being raised on the functioning of the police in this entire matter. The family members allege that during the post-mortem, the police did not present before the doctors the belt with which Twisha had allegedly committed suicide.
Apart from this, the medical team could not scientifically examine the ligature marks found on the woman’s neck. The family says that the investigation has been affected due to these omissions. At present the body is kept in AIIMS and the family is adamant on the demand for second post-mortem.
