Explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has acknowledged the guidance and influence of Ashish Nehra after surviving a horrific car accident. It was also said that the former Indian fast bowler’s advice to be happy has helped a lot during the difficult phase. Pant met with an accident on the night of December 30, 2022 on the Delhi-Dehradun road.

Pant is participating in IPL 2025 and is leading Lucknow Super Giants. Pant was bought by Lucknow for Rs 27 crore in the mega auction for IPL 2025. Pant’s bat is not in form so far in this IPL season. In December 2022, Pantani’s car met with an accident and the car caught fire. He was seriously injured in this accident. He needed several surgeries to recover from these.

Pant had said that he has been my senior colleague in my club. When he saw me, he came to me and said, I too am very sad, you can only be happy. Do things that make you happy. This advice was really useful for me and helped me a lot in coming out of my injury.

After the surgery, Pant had to undergo rigorous rehabilitation for a year. He returned to competitive cricket during the IPL last year and then made his comeback at the international level in the T20 World Cup held in USA and West Indies. Pant was a part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. After this he also got a place in the test team.
