The grand finale of the three-day tribal festival organized in collaboration with Sant Keenaram Postgraduate College, Robertsganj, under the joint aegis of North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India and District Administration Sonbhadra, concluded with enthusiasm and excitement on Wednesday. The program brought alive the rich folk and tribal traditions of the region.
The closing ceremony was inaugurated by jointly lighting the lamp by chief guest Sanjeev Singh Gaur, Minister of State for Social Welfare and special guest former MLA Robertsganj Tirath Raj, Dr. Gopal Singh Principal, Vinay Singh, Information Officer Sonbhadra, Assistant Tourism Officer Rajesh Bharti, Manoj Kumar (Programme Coordinator, NCZCC) and Sahay.
The main attraction of the cultural evening was the famous Alha singer Faujdar Singh, whose energetic singing filled the entire pandal with enthusiasm. As soon as he started singing the heroic ballad Alha-Udal, the arms of the audience fluttered and the atmosphere became drenched with heroic juice. Through his singing, he introduced the audience to the history by presenting a lively depiction of the Battle of Mandavgarh, Indal Haran and Palak Bukhara-Nainagarh.
His presence on the stage in Rajputana attire, with a sword in his hand, added a new dimension of excitement to the program, due to which the entire pandal echoed with thunderous applause. After this, the folk artists enthralled the audience with their performances.
Booti Bai spread the flavor of folk culture by presenting Rai, Balma and Changeli dance, while the colorful presentation of Karma dance by Banarasi, Domkach dance by Mahendra and Holi dance by Rajneesh and team made the atmosphere joyful. The entire program was conceptualized by Center Director Sudesh Sharma.
On this occasion, many dignitaries including social worker Avadhanath, Rajesh Mishra, manager, Satya Prakash Singh (coordinator, Kashi province), Nar Singh Patel (general secretary, Kisan Morcha), Dinesh Biar (national minister, Apna Dal) and Mohan Kushwaha (district panchayat member) were present.
