The party has once again given a chance to BJP MLC Sanjay Mayukh to go to the Legislative Council. The tenure of Sanjay’s seat is going to end this month. After winning the election, he will remain MLC for 6 more years. His name was also running in the list of possible candidates for the by-election on Bankipur assembly seat of Patna. Bankipur seat became vacant after the resignation of BJP President Nitin Naveen.

JDU also announced four candidates, including Health Minister Nishant Kumar.

Nominations till June 8 The Bihar Legislative Council Elections were announced by the Election Commission last month. The tenure of 9 MLC seats under assembly quota is ending this month, voting on these will be held on June 18. The nomination process is going on. June 8 is the last date for filing forms. Along with these, there will also be a by-election on an MLC seat, which became vacant due to the resignation of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He is now a member of Rajya Sabha. The tenure of this seat is till 2030. JDU has made Lalan Prasad its candidate from this seat.

According to the numerical strength in the Assembly, NDA’s victory on 8 out of 9 seats is considered certain, while one seat will go to the grand alliance led by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). NDA currently has 201 MLAs in the assembly. Elections are being held simultaneously on 9 seats, so mathematically, an MLC candidate needs the votes of at least 25 MLAs to win. In this way, BJP, JDU, LJP-R, RLMO and us together will easily make 8 MLCs. The Grand Alliance has 35 MLAs in the opposition.

Apart from this, he can also get the votes of 6 MLAs of Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM and BSP. Therefore, the opposition’s capture of one seat is considered certain. However, some MLAs of RJD and Congress had abstained from voting in the Rajya Sabha elections. If something like this happens in the MLC elections, then it cannot be ruled out that the ninth seat was at stake.
