Body of Indian student Saket Srinivasaiah, missing in California, found after six days, was a student of University of California, Berkeley

New Delhi. The body of a 22-year-old Indian student who went missing in California, America, has been found. Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a resident of Karnataka, had gone missing on February 9, after which a rapid search was going on for him. The Indian Embassy in San Francisco has confirmed that the police have recovered the body of the Indian student. Saketh Sreenivasaiah was studying post graduation in America and was a student of the University of California, Berkeley.

The Indian Embassy in San Francisco (Consulate General of India) while giving information in X Post said that the police has found the body of the student. All necessary assistance has been assured to send the body back to India as soon as possible. Along with this, the Embassy also expressed its deep condolences to the family and loved ones.

Preparations to send the student’s body to India soon

In its X-post, the Indian Embassy wrote, ‘It is with deep regret to inform that the local police has confirmed the recovery of the body of missing Indian student Saket Srinivasiah. We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time. The Embassy stands ready to provide all necessary assistance to the family, including coordination with local authorities and making arrangements for repatriation of the mortal remains to India at the earliest. Our officials are in direct contact with the family and will support them with all necessary formalities and services.

Police had launched a search operation

Let us tell you that before going missing, Saket was last seen about a kilometer away from the campus, after which a search operation was conducted in the entire city around Anja Lake and Berkeley Hills area. A bag containing his passport and laptop was later found near a residence near Tilden Regional Park near campus.

Saket found dead in Anja Lake

According to media reports, Saket’s body was found in Anja Lake near Berkeley Hills. Saket Srinivasaiah was a post-graduation student at the University of California, Berkeley. He was pursuing Master of Science in Product Development Program (PDP) and was a resident of Tumakuru, Karnataka. He was last seen near Anja Lake.
