The boss considered the innovation of this Chinese tech company! A battery has been developed which will give a range of 3000 km

Currently, electric cars are gaining popularity all over the world. Also, many companies are paying special attention to how to increase the range of their electric cars. However, it is also important to have a powerful battery to extend the range of the car. One such powerful battery innovation has been done by Huawei.

Chinese Tech company Huawei has made an important discovery in the field of electric four wheeler vehicles. In July of 2025, the company claimed to have developed a new solid-state electric vehicle battery. This battery will give a range of over 3000 km on a single charge. Moreover, it can be fully charged in just 5 minutes. The company is working on it and it is likely to be developed by 2027. However, it will be a very expensive technology car, with 1kWh costing around Rs 1.20 lakh. Let’s know more about it.

The battery will be fully charged in 5 minutes

A patent filed by the company shows that these electric vehicle batteries contain nitrogen-doped sulfide electrolytes, which increase the energy density to 400-500 Wh/kg, which is two to three times higher than current lithium-ion batteries. Ultra-fast charging ensures 0-100% charge in just 5 minutes. Currently, one of the biggest obstacles to the commercialization of solid-state batteries is the stabilization of the lithium interface and reducing the risk of harmful side effects. The patent suggests that nitrogen doping of sulfide electrolytes can address both of these challenges.

1kWh costs Rs

According to experts, these claims are based on laboratory results. Applying this model to real-world and large-scale production systems faces many challenges due to high production costs. Sulfide electrolytes are quite expensive, costing around $1,400 (approx. 1.20 lakh) per kWh.

More than 3000 km driving range

It is also worth noting that Huawei’s claimed driving range of 3000+ km on a single charge is based on the CLTC (China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle). Conversely, if we consider the EPA cycle, this range drops to 2000+ km. This is still significantly more than any electric vehicle currently on sale in the world.

Huawei is not currently in the business of making power batteries, but the company’s recent heavy investment in battery research and materials suggests that the company intends to enter the field in the future.
