The film marks KVN Productions’ entry into Malayalam cinema. Interestingly, Balan is also the title of the first film made with sound in Malayalam, as well as the third film in the industry after the silent films Vigathakumaran (1928) and Marthanda Varma (1933).
As the film went on floors in August, the makers dropped the first official poster from it that features a young boy as he walks with a stick in his hand. They are yet to reveal details about the film’s plot, cast, and release date. It will reunite Chidambaram with his Manjummel Boys technicians, including cinematographer Shyju Khalid, composer Sushin Shyam, editor Vivek Harshan, and production designer Ajayan Chalissery.
