Maruti Suzuki Swift was the best-selling hatchback in September 2024 with sales of 16,241 units. This represents a year-on-year increase of 10.46% from 14,703 units sold in September 2023. There was also a decline in sales of Maruti WagonR, which became the number 1 best-selling hatchback in August 2024. Sales stood at 13,339 units, down 17.91% year-on-year and 18.91% month-on-month. He secured third position in this list. Its market share also fell from 19.97% in August 2024 to 16.26% last month.
The fourth most popular hatchback was also Maruti Suzuki's Alto. In September 2024, sales reached 8,655 units, an increase of 11.09% year-on-year and 1.28% month-on-month. 7,791 units and 8,546 units were sold in September 2023 and August 2024 respectively.
