Why was the full schedule not announced?
BCCI did not announce the schedule of the entire league simultaneously due to the assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. When the first phase IPL schedule was released, the Election Commission had not confirmed the election dates. IPL 2026 matches will be held at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Assam, Eden Gardens in West Bengal and MA Chidambaram Stadium in Tamil Nadu, hence BCCI Had no option but to postpone this program.
