Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Gadkari said the upcoming model will support E100 fuel—that is, pure ethanol with no adulteration of petrol—which will mark a significant milestone in India’s efforts to promote alternative fuels.

Although Maruti Suzuki has not yet officially revealed the name of this model, it is expected that the flex-fuel version of WagonR or Fronx will be the strongest contender among the vehicles to be launched.

Maruti Suzuki has already shown flex-fuel prototypes of both these models at different auto shows. The WagonR flex-fuel model was introduced at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, while an ethanol-compatible version of the Fronx was shown overseas.
