Court acquitted veteran South actor in rape case with actress, case was registered in 2017
New Delhi. The Kerala Sessions Court on Monday acquitted well-known Malayalam actor Dileep in the 2017 case of kidnapping and rape of an actress. Dilip said outside the court that a conspiracy was hatched in the society to defame me and tarnish my career, but I have got justice from the court.

Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court Judge Honey M Varghese has delivered the verdict in the 2017 Kerala actress assault case, in which Dileep was the eighth accused. Dilip was found not guilty on the charge that he had conspired to carry out the assault. Dilip was accused of hiring a gang and hatching a conspiracy to commit this crime. This case is related to an actress, who used to work in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films. It is said that on the night of February 17, 2017, some men kidnapped her in her car and molested her. Sunil NS, known as Pulsar Suni, is accused of conspiring to commit kidnapping and assault and is the first accused. Others facing trial along with him and Dileep are Martin Antony, Manikandan B, Vijesh VP, Salim H, alias Vadiwal Salim, Pradeep, Charlie Thomas, Sanilkumar alias Mesthiri Sanil and G Sarath. The charges against the accused cover a wide range of IPC sections, including criminal conspiracy (120A, 120B), kidnapping (109), wrongful confinement (342, 357), kidnapping (366), outraging modesty (354), attempt to disrobe (354B), gang rape (376D), criminal intimidation (506(i)), destruction of evidence (201), harboring an offender. (212) and general intention (34). The trial, which began on March 8, 2018, has been long and complex. A total of 261 witnesses were examined, over the years, two special prosecutors stepped down, and the survivor’s request to replace the judge was refused. The Prosecution submitted 833 documents and 142 material objects, while the Defense presented 221 documents.
