While inaugurating the International Global Conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that humanity should be the center point in the development and progress of cooperation. The culture of humanity is the lifeblood of cooperation.

Prime Minister Modi was addressing the Global Conference of International Cooperative Alliance ICA in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. While addressing 3000 cooperative representatives from all over the world, Modi said that cooperation is the basis of India's lifestyle. Cooperation is a key for the world. There can be a role model, whereas for India, cooperation is the basic mantra of its culture. It is said in our Vedas and Upanishads that everyone should remain dry and live together. In India, cooperation starts from the family itself.

In the conference of International Cooperative Alliance organized for the first time in India, Modi said that cooperation played an important role in inspiring the freedom movement. Cooperation was the basic mantra of Mahatma Gandhi's Khadi Village Industries, whose development went beyond even the big brands. The revolution of the farmers' movement was achieved through cooperation.

Shri Modi said that our government has taken many steps on the principle of prosperity through cooperation. To strengthen the cooperative movement, a separate Ministry of Cooperation has been created in the Government of India. 30 crore people of the world are associated with cooperatives, that is, one in five people and in India too, one in five people are associated with cooperatives. Today, cooperatives are playing an important role in the field of sugar industry, fertilizer, milk production.

There is a good contribution in the field of housing society and also in the banking sector, at present people have deposits of Rs 12000 crore in cooperative banks. The bank has been reformed and brought under the purview of RBI. The bank has also been included in the field of insurance and every account holder has been insured for ₹ 500000. To strengthen and advance cooperative societies as much as possible, government societies are being expanded to 2 lakh villages. Farmer Producer Ecosystem is being reformed. For women empowerment, it has been made mandatory to have a director in every cooperative society. Places have also been reserved for the women of deprived and Dalit class in the societies. 10 crore women are associated with self-profit groups. For whom nine lakh rupees are provided for development. The government has given a cheap loan of crores of rupees. Media is being used to connect the villages with cooperatives. In the 21st century, it is the duty of all of us to make plans and help small and medium cooperative societies. The benefits of this scheme in production and distribution should be through government committees, so that the society can get its collective benefit.

Prime Minister Modi said that although international cooperatives are doing very good work, but in this conference there should also be a discussion on whether we should help the global cooperative organizations in the whole world who are economically weak in weak countries. It should be considered to create such an organization that can help the cooperatives. Perhaps Startup Global's South Country cooperatives, which are quite weak, can help them.

Innovation will have to be done, the importance of this conference lies in this. Helping the poor along with high growth and the spirit of humanity should be the basic mantra of the cooperative movement. And it should remain at the center point of its development. Institutions can be formed by law and order, there can be compulsion but it will not be of any benefit to humanity. Mahatma Gandhi used to say that it should be done on the basis of morality and not on the basis of numbers. With high growth GDP, there can be maximum welfare of the poor, there can be maximum development which should have a strong sense of humanity.

The spirit of welfare of humanity remains supreme in the basic spirit of India. India did not follow the principles of economics even during the time of Corona. Medicines and resources were not available in poor countries. India helped such countries and stood with them economically. In his vision, he also had the opportunity to earn money but we preferred to go with humanity, we did not like the economic vision. This is our culture, this is our spirit of cooperation.

Modi expressed hope that after brainstorming on all those problems in this 5-day conference, some conclusion would be reached which would lead to the development of cooperation and human welfare along with participation. He expressed happiness over the fact that the year of International Co-operation Day is 2025. This conference will strengthen the cooperative movement in the world.

Amit Shah is the chief guest of this conference. This conference was presided over by the Prime Minister of Bhutan. The global conference was chaired by Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and welcomed by Fiji's Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamika. IFFCO is hosting the conference.
