The days of North-South Block are over, government will run from Seva Tirtha, why changed the address of PMO?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday formally inaugurated the new building, ‘Seva Tirtha’ in New Delhi. This new complex has now become the new address of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). This is the first time after independence that the address of the Prime Minister’s Office has changed. Earlier it was in South Block, now the Prime Minister’s Office has shifted to Seva Tirtha.
Apart from the PMO, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat are also located in Seva Tirtha. Along with this, the Prime Minister also inaugurated Dutta Bhawan-1 and Dutta Bhawan-2. Many important ministries have been transferred to these buildings.
North Block and South Block have been the centers of power since 1931. The outline of the country’s development has been being prepared from here. The government plans to convert these iconic buildings in North Block and South Block into ‘Yug Yugin Bharat National Museum’. This will be a world class museum showcasing the civilizational journey of India.

Which ministries got place in Seva Teerth?

Why was Seva Teerth built?
Earlier these ministries were at different places in the Central Vista area. The buildings had become old. There were problems in work due to new requirements. There was no coordination between the ministries. More expenditure was incurred on the buildings of different ministries. Working methods were also being affected. Now these new modern buildings have been built, which are digitally connected.
What is special in Seva Teerth?
Seva Teerth has good security system, smart access control, cameras and emergency system. The buildings of Seva Teerth have been designed to suit the climate of Delhi. There are good facilities for solar energy, water management and waste management. The government is calling it a major achievement in the change in administrative structure. The Prime Minister is very excited about this project. The Prime Minister has inaugurated Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhawan 1 and 2. It has also been 95 years since New Delhi was formally made the modern capital of India.

What is history?
When Delhi became the capital, its center was the Raisina Hill Campus. Here is the Viceroy’s House, which the world now knows as Rashtrapati Bhavan. The foundation stones of the new capital were laid by King George V and Queen Mary nearly a century ago. It was inaugurated by Viceroy Lord Irwin on February 13, 1931. Then the inauguration ceremony lasted for about a week. During this time, the then Viceroy had inaugurated the All India War Memorial Arch on 12 February. Now the world knows it as India Gate.
India Gate was built in memory of the soldiers martyred in the First World War that lasted from 1914 to 1918 and the Third Anglo-Afghan War in 1919. Its map was prepared by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Sir Herbert Baker built the new capital of the British Raj. The architecture of this city rivaled the most beautiful cities of the world. Delhi was blossoming when the world was going through the horrors of World War. It took about 20 years to build it.
